Book Two: Nightingale Express (in progress)
Five years after the events of Imp House, Evelyn DuPont is working as a magic enforcement officer on an international train-line known as the Nightingale Express. Although she has left her dark past behind, her development of an infamous yet powerful enforcement spell has left her with a far-reaching reputation.
When a sudden escalation in a dangerous black magic movement leads to attacks in multiple cities without regard to national borders, Evelyn is called to investigate. She is aided by her beloved familiar, Rosalind, as well as the government contracted private inspector, Lawrence Richmond, with whom she shares an instant chemistry.
Despite this, Evelyn finds herself confronted by far more serious matters when an encounter with an insurgent leads to a life-threatening altercation, which ends with the disclosure of a shocking connection to Imp House. With her past bubbling to the surface, Evelyn is left to wonder one thing: Will the nightmare ever truly end?
